Fortnite is Getting New Different Type of Sword

Fortnite Sword

As you know, Fortnite's v7.20 patch as the first big update of the year is now live; as per usual, industrious data miners have begun to scour the files for details on upcoming additions to the game.

It looks like Fortnite may soon add New Different Type of Sword into the game. Data mines have located several new items, and one of them is a new sword that appears to be headed to the game's battle royale mode.

As shared by Trix Leaks on Twitter, today's Fortnite patch added numerous audio files for a Medieval Sword to the game. This reveal has led some fans to speculate on irrespective of whether the item will indeed be a brand new battle royale weapon or if it is just a pickaxe, and further investigation appears to possess presented clarity on this matter.

Especially, Sr DraBx, a Twitter user devoted to Fortnite news and leaks, has positioned asset files for the Medieval Sword, and they indicate that it's "a 'normal' sword, which seems to be a weapon, not a pickaxe." These asset files incorporate the image of your sword above, which has also been shared by Sr DraBx.

Last month, a datamine uncovered a new sword that was to become introduced into battle royale - a weapon that eventually turned out to be the Mythic Infinity Blade. This powerful melee weapon could only be obtained by 1 player per match, but, regardless of its scarcity, the Infinity Blade proved to influence battle royale so heavily that Epic had to send it to the Vault rapidly.

As such, some players may be wary about Epic adding a new sword to Fortnite. Even so, the business indicated that it could be "re-evaluating" its strategy to Mythic products following the challenges spawned by the Infinity Blade, and it stands to reason that Epic will be cautious not to introduce but one more overpowered melee weapon so swiftly.

That mentioned, players will merely wait until official confirmation of your Medieval Sword to know specifically what they're coping with. In the meantime, there are quite a few weapons, such as the Legendary Scoped Revolver that came with today's v7.20 update, that may perhaps provide a shakeup to Fortnite's established metagame.
