In current weeks using the arrival of your mysterious purple cube in Fortnite, strange phenomena have been a prevalent occurrence. The Cube is at present stopping at every with the seven runes it designed, which when taken collectively, produce a kind of misshapen self-portrait, as you are able to see above.
It's presently "activated" six runes, which elevates the rune into the air for a day or so, then sets it back down using a beam of light on top of it, and it's about to hit the seventh.
What occurs then?
Even when almost everything in Fortnite is generally determined to hell by Fortnite V-Bucks collectors, it does not look like any person, leakers integrated, really know. But there are a few distinct theories we can go through based on the evidence.
It is Generating A Super Cube
Have uh, you noticed the home on Cube Island recently? Just about every new rune it actives, there are Cube "growths" that continue to expand around the island and by way of the residence. It seems like the island itself is becoming constructed into something…else, and provided all of the cube shapes, possibly some kind of Super Uber Cube when all is mentioned and done.
It is Summoning A Monster
This is a pretty old "Leviathan" theory from way back in the day, the idea that the Cube is summoning some sort of monster from the deep. Given that Leviathan's had been traditionally thought of as sea monsters, and that we at present have a giant hole within the middle of Loot Lake, I don't think this can be outside the realm of possibility. But what part does a giant monster need to play in Fortnite? Wrecking points? A new LTM? Who knows.
It's Spawning a Volcano
A different old theory, that there's a secret pool of lava under Loot Lake as well as the Cube is activated it, transforming the entire location. I suppose that could occur, but I do believe a lot from the "lava" leaks turned out to be just Cube goo that we currently saw, so I'm not going to hold my breath for this one.
It's Ushering In An Ice Age
Though I don't know exactly what Cube Runes would do with bringing in a Westeros-style winter towards the map, among the list of transformations for season 7 appears like clearly part of the map is going to be covered in snow and ice, and if that is a major transformation, it could have one thing to perform using the Cube's strategy. Although I suppose we did get a brand new desert zone that just sprung into existence by itself, so it is feasible these two are mutually exclusive.
It is Bringing In a Future Cube City
I think the majority of people are convinced the Cube is either from the future or alien in nature and what it may well do is bring a piece of its homeworld with it. We're sort of seeing what a "Cube city" could look like on the island itself, provided its terraforming, and I'd not be shocked to view say, all of Loot Lake replaced by some kind of futuristic city that the Cube summons across dimensions.
It's Corrupting The complete Map
A single final theory is the fact that the Cube is arranging anything on a larger scale than we've ever noticed, a devastating cataclysm that does not just adjust parts from the map, but all of it, bringing us into a post-apocalyptic Fortnite era. Offered that Epic wants to remain relevant and possess the game feel fresh, I would not totally rule this out, although it can be a bit of a longshot.
