Fortnite's new Buried Treasure map was added to the game in the V8.01 Patch that went live on March 6. However, it appears that the new map shows some hidden messages, are they coming both to the Fortnite Battle Royale map?
As seen within the photo beneath, there looks like sketches of both a Kraken's tentacles plus a dragon - sparking recommendations that players could soon be added to the free-to-play game mode.
For the phenomenon in the above picture, players have different opinions:
"Maybe they just put them there because it would look cool on a treasure map."
"Well, tbh a lot of pirate maps have monster decorations on them; it does mean too much but still a possibility."
"We will get the previously theorized Kraken and leaked Kraken event in about two weeks polar peak, and the rest of the ice will melt and make that whole side of the map underwater, and a new vehicle will be added the submarine. There's a red X on where retail row on the map is I believe the volcano will spew out more lava eventually hitting retail and retail will be changed."
"It's just something they put on a map."
"Kraken represents Blackheart, and the Dragon represents The Prisoner."
"So, I have that crazy idea: Remember Food Fight LTM? Or the SuperBowl one? Now, imagine Ice vs. Fire, with two BIG beasts, a Kraken and a Dragon. Each team has to kill the monster of the enemy... Sounds like a song of ice and fire."
Some people think it's a coincidence but knowing epic, it may not be. Individuals who have played Sea of Thieves will know of your Kraken that appears across the seven seas in that game, and maybe Epic will move Fortnite in a similar direction quickly. With that being said, there is no confirmation about a Kraken - or dragon, for that matter - becoming added to Fortnite any time soon.
